In accordance with Article 25 AA of the NYS Agriculture and Markets Law, the Cattaraugus County Legislature held their annual thirty-day period in which landowners may submit a request for inclusion of land into Cattaraugus County Agricultural District 5, which encompasses every municipality in Cattaraugus County. Cattaraugus County is proposing to add 24 parcels totaling 1,398.36 acres to Agricultural District 5, as recommended by the Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board.

A public hearing on the requests for inclusion into a certified Agricultural District submitted during the 2026 thirty-day inclusion period is scheduled for April 22, 2026 at 5:01 PM at the Cattaraugus County Center, Little Valley, NY. A public hearing is required to be held for the purpose of hearing comments on the proposed additions to the existing Agricultural District 5, pursuant to Article 25 AA of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law Section 303-b.
