
District Attorney, Ashley E. Smith, announced today that the following people were indicted by the Cattaraugus County Grand Jury for the month of May 2026:
Town of Coldspring, New York – Kevin M. Stafford Jr. was indicted on May 7, 2026, for the crimes of Aggravated DWI (Class E Felony), DWI; previous conviction (Class E Felony), Assault in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Aggravated Family Offense (Class E Felony) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor). The indictment states that on or about January 14, 2026, Stafford Jr. operated a motor vehicle with a .18 of one per centum or more by weight of alcohol in his blood and operated a motor vehicle on a public highway while in an intoxicated condition. The indictment also states that on or about April 14, 2026 and or about April 24, 2026, Stafford Jr. with intent to cause physical injury to another person, caused such injury to such person, committed an aggravated family offense by having been convicted of one or more specified offenses within the immediately preceding five years, and he knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of a child less than seventeen years old.
City of Olean, New York – Ronald Daniels III was indicted on May 7, 2026, for the crimes Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class C Felony). The indictment states that on or about March 12, 2026, Daniels III knowingly and unlawfully possessed a narcotic drug with intent to sell and knowingly and unlawfully possessed one or more preparations, compounds, mixtures, or substances containing a narcotic drug and were of an aggregated weight of on-eighth ounce or more.
City of Olean, NY – Ronald Maund was indicted on May 7, 2026, for the crimes of Rape in the Third Degree (Class E Felony), Sexual Misconduct (Class A Misdemeanor), and Forcible Touching (Class A Misdemeanor). The indictment states that on or about April 21, 2026, Maund, being twenty-on years old or more, engaged in vaginal sexual contact with another person less than seventeen years, engaged in sexual intercourse with another person without such person’s consent, due to such person being less than seventeen years old, and forcibly touched the sexual or other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person, or for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire.
City of Olean, NY – Micah Hicks was indicted on May 21, 2026, for the crimes of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony), two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony), and two counts of Criminal Nuisance in the First Degree (Class E Felony). The indictment states that on or about January 7, 2026, and on or about January 13, 2026, Hicks, knowingly and unlawfully possessed a narcotic drug with intent to sell, and knowingly and unlawfully sold a narcotic drug, and engaged in the unlawful sale of a controlled substance out of his premises.
City of Olean, NY – Charles A. Stover was indicted on May 21, 2026, for the crimes of Assault in the Second Degree (Class D Felony), Assault in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). The indictment states that on or about May 4, 2026, Stover, with the intent to cause physical injury to another person, caused such injury to that person by means of a dangerous instrument, knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of a child less than seventeen years old, and knowingly possessed a dangerous instrument.
