The following list are some of the common issues that arise in using the Cattaraugus County Parcel Viewer.  Included are some tips to diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may arise on your own.

Issue: Some layers not loading or a layer error pops up upon loading the viewer.

Fix: Wait a few minutes and try to load the viewer again.

Updates to the layers themselves require them to be turned off for short periods of time.  These updates typically don’t take any longer than 5 to 10 minutes and are usually performed outside periods of high traffic, but occasionally an update is required to be performed ASAP. If you are getting layer loading errors, this is the likely cause and it is recommended to wait 5 to 10 minutes and try to use the viewer again. 

Issue: Some of the widgets(tools) are acting strangely, displaying an error, or the Parcel Viewer itself is not loading.  

Fix: Clear your browser cache.  Instructions available at https://www.cattco.gov/content/clear-your-web-browsers-cache.

This will usually clear up 90% of the issues that arise in using the viewer.  This is caused by the updating of code, updates to the browser itself, or corrupt temporary internet files (cookies) to name a few of the causes.   The process to do this varies depending on the browser you are using.  Cattaraugus County has a page that links to various help sites with instructions on clearing their browser's cache, available at https://www.cattco.gov/content/clear-your-web-browsers-cache
