FEMA is currently updating their Region 2 Flood Hazard Maps for the County and has their draft map available online for review and comments. Currently the updated maps would increase the number of total parcels in the floodplain from 7,405 to 14,964 parcels in Cattaraugus County. These updates would have a significant impact on several parts of our county, affecting many municipalities as well as the county as a whole.
