A Team of Secret Shoppers recently toured a number of communities in Cattaraugus County, searching for opportunities for municipalities and entrepreneurs to capitalize on the millions of potential travelers that reside within 3 hours of the Enchanted Mountains. Come hear their findings and recommendations for ways Cattaraugus can increase visitor spending in the region. The "Intensive Workshop on Community Visioning" will be held at Holiday Valley Resort's Main Chalet from 9am to 4pm on June 5th.

The sale of tobacco products to minors (under 18) is a violation of NYS Public Health Law, Article 13-F: Regulation of Tobacco Products and Herbal Cigarettes; Distribution to Minors.  Additionally, the Cattaraugus County Legislature recently passed a local law prohibiting the sale of tobacco and nicotene containing products to anyone under the age of twenty-one (21).

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office announces that they will be taking part in the Seat Belt Mobilization Enforcement detail from May 21 to June 3, 2018.  Due to a grant from the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, the Sheriff's Office will be able to provide extra patrols throughout the county, enforcing seat belt, child safety seat and other traffic laws.  The Sheriff's Office encourages everyone traveling through our county to keep our roadways safe.

Cathy Mackay, director of the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging/NY Connects, has announced that Cattaraugus County has been awarded 840 Senior Farmers Market coupon booklets valued at $16,800. Each booklet contains five $4.00 coupons ($20.00 value), and can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating Farmers Markets in Cattaraugus County.
