NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Cattaraugus County Legislature will hold a public hearing on August 27, 2025 at 5:01 p.m. at Cattaraugus County Center, 303 Court Street, Little Valley, New York for the purpose of hearing public comments on Cattaraugus County’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2025 program year. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR) and will make available to eligible local governments approximately $40 million for the 2025 program year for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefiting low/moderate income persons. Cattaraugus County is applying for an amount up to $375,000 in CDBG funds to assist Stillhouse of Buffalo, LLC’s project to expand production capabilities at their facility on NYS Rte. 219 in Ellicottville. It is expected that $359,000 of the requested CDBG funds will benefit low-to-moderate income persons through the creation of jobs taken by or made available to low-to-moderate income persons, with the remaining funding utilized for expenses related to program delivery and grant administration. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program, including progress towards beneficiary goals and program objectives, and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
