Community Work Experience Program
Cattaraugus County Community Work Experience Program (CWEP) is a service provided to non-profit and government agencies at NO COST to the agency.
Our Mission
Provide opportunities for public and non-profit organizations to utilize volunteer labor and to help workers receive valuable job skills.
What does this program entail?
The CWEP assists workers with obtaining experience to build a resume, enhancing job readiness and other work related skills, and securing references for future employment.
Participants are assessed for existing skill sets and placed accordingly in unpaid work at a government or not-for-profit worksite. Attendance is monitored by staff in the Cattaraugus County Employment Unit. Participants are also eligible for supportive services through CWEP.
Supportive Services may include but are not limited to:
| Gas cards/voucher | Bus passes |
| Car repairs and/or insurance | Tools and equipment |
| Necessary clothing | Protective equipment/clothing |
| Vocational education/training | On-the-Job training programs |
| Licensing, including motor vehicle registration | Child-care assistance |
Job duties may include but are not limited to:
- Clerical/office
- Maintenance work
- Public works
- Retail
- Food prep
