Olean NY January 5, 2021 - Cattaraugus County has opened a COVID-19 vaccination clinic to facilitate distribution of Moderna vaccine to those categorized in New York State’s 1-A priority group, utilizing existing supplies of vaccine from Olean General Hospital (OGH) and Universal Primary Care (UPC).  The clinic is under the direction of the Cattaraugus County Department of Health.

Cattaraugus County Health Department is sad to report the deaths of three residents of Cattaraugus County due to COVID-19 related complications.

The fifty-first recorded death was an 89 year old female who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome her illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

Cattaraugus County Health Department is sad to report the deaths of three residents of Cattaraugus County due to COVID-19 related complications.

The forty-eight recorded death was an 80 year old male who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome his illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

The forty-ninth recorded death was a 57 year old male who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome his illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

Cattaraugus County Health Department is sad to report the deaths of two residents of Cattaraugus County due to COVID-19 related complications.

The forty-sixth recorded death was a 70 year old female who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome her illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

The forty-seventh recorded death was a 75 year old male who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome his illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

The Emergency Benefit component of the Heating and Energy Assistance (HEAP) program will open on Monday, January 4, 2021. The Emergency Benefit will be authorized for those HEAP eligible households that can document that a heating/utility emergency exists. An emergency is defined as those households that are threatened with a heat/utility shut-off or their utility service is already off, there is less than 25% fuel left in oil/propane/kerosene tanks, or there is less than a 10 day supply of wood/wood pellets/coal.
