The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has issued a TRAVEL ADVISORY for Southern Cattaraugus County until further notice. Heavy lake-effect snow is making travel difficult with slippery roads and poor visibility especially along Interstate-86 in Western Cattaraugus County.
Motorists are asked to avoid unnecessary travel in these areas until further notice.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the Travel Advisory that was issued on November 29, 2024 at 9:45PM. Conditions have improved however the forecast calls for heavy lake effect snow to continue through the weekend.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destination and be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions.

Heavy lake-effect snow is making travel difficult across the county, especially in Northern and Western Cattaraugus County. Motorists are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. First Responders are handling several accidents and vehicles off the roadway. Please use caution.
