The Cattaraugus County Legislative Committees will meet on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, beginning at 4:00 with a Committee of the Whole to release the 2021 Tentative Budget. The meetings will be  in the Legislative Chambers, 303 Court Street, Little Valley, New York.

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging wants to recognize National Family Caregivers Month as a time to honor caregivers’ selflessness and extend our gratitude for improving the lives of others.  This is a salute to the generosity and sacrifices caregivers in our community make each and every day.  We encourage caregivers to be kind to themselves and access services that may lighten their caregiving duties.

The Cattaraugus County Department of Aging has several services geared to provide relief to caregivers:

October 28, 2020

Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of seventeen additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and four as there are three hundred and thirty one residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

LITTLE VALLEY – Cattaraugus County Election Commissioners Kevin Burleson and Cortney Spittler remind voters that today is the last day to request an absentee ballot via email, phone, fax or NYS Board of Elections Absentee Portal. It is also the last day to postmark an absentee application sent by mail.

After today, all absentee ballot requests must be made in person (or by an agent of the voter) at the Board of Elections Office, 207 Rock City St., Suite 100, Little Valley, NY 14755.

October 25, 2020

Cattaraugus County Health Department is sad to report the deaths of two residents of Cattaraugus County due to COVID-19 related complications.

The seventeenth death was an 82 year old female who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome her illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

The eighteenth death is a 62 year old male who also developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome his illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

October 23, 2020

Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of nine additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now seventy two as there are three hundred and eight residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

Cattaraugus County Health Department is sad to report the sixteenth death of a resident of Cattaraugus County due to COVID-19 related complications. He was a 52 year old male who developed respiratory failure and was unable to overcome his illness despite aggressive medical treatment.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and the entire Cattaraugus County community.
